1) Cost-Per-Click (CPC) Advertising Programs
CPC advertising programs are the best money making programs for most of the bloggers. They are suitable to all kind of blogs with family-friendly content regardless of their traffic level and age. CPC programs work well on blog because they display contextual ads that are highly relevant to blogs content and bloggers will earn anywhere between 10 cents to 50 cents for each contextual ads click by their visitors. With proper CPC ads optimization and consistent amount of traffic, a blogger can earn a steady amount of money displaying CPC ads on his/her blog. Google AdSense is no doubt, the undisputed king of CPC advertising programs and Yahoo Publisher Network is the closest alternative of AdSense.
2) Cost-Per-Action (CPA) Advertising Programs
CPA programs is quite similar to CPC programs except CPA programs don't pay bloggers for each click on the CPA ads hosted by bloggers. The blogger only makes money when the visitor takes an action on the CPA advertiser website. The action can be a sign up, making a purchase, generating a lead, downloading a product and more. CPA networks pay a lot more than CPC programs, for a visitor sent by the blogger from his/her blog to a CPA advertiser website and the visitor taken an action on the advertiser site, the blogger can earn few dollar to fifty dollar depend on the niche. But CPA ads tend to work well on large traffic blogs only. AzoogleAds.com, Commission Junction and Advertising.com are some of the largest CPA networks.
3) Promote Affiliate Programs
Marketing affiliate programs is very common nowadays. You sign up with affiliate program of an online company, then decide whether to use the company's text link or banner ads on your blog to promote the company's products or services and earn affiliate commission when a visitor make a purchase through your affiliate link. Affiliate programs can be promoted without a website and blog too.
4) Pay Per Post Programs
Pay per post programs started last year. The programs pay bloggers to write a blog post about a sponsor's website. The paid blog post can be a review or an introduction on the advertiser's website, products or services. The blogger will be paid a least $5 for each sponsor post. Blogs that have massive traffic, high Google PR and large number of subscribers can charge a few hundred dollar for just writing one sponsor post. Here's are the two most popular Pay per post networks that offer this type of earning opportunities:
www.reviewme.com
www.payperpost.com
The downside of pay per post is that writing too many sponsor posts that are not relevant to your blog content can seriously affect your traffic.
5) Sell Text Link Ads
Selling text links on your blog can be a great source of additional online revenue. It is not difficult to get started, just go to Text-link-ads.com to sign up an account, then decide which part of your pages you want to display paid text links, set your price and you are ready to take order. Text-link-ads.com will handle all the promotional works. Another company that offers the similar services as Text-link-ads.com is Reverselinks.com
6) Hosting Web Poll
Vizu Answer offers a pretty new way to monetize your blog's and website's traffic. The pays the publishers on a cost-per-thousand impression (CPM) basis for hosting targeted web poll. The money a blogger can earn from hosting poll is depending on the page views. The more page views, the higher the earning.

Is Your Web Site Lost in Space?
by Sally FalkowAlthough it should look good, the real purpose of a web site is to generate sales or leads for your product or service--anything else is a waste of your marketing budget. That should be in bold type on your Internet marketing strategy.
However, there is one catch--you have to get them to your site. You could have an award winning web site design with the content written by a Pulitzer Prize winning author, and you're convinced that people will love it. But will they come?
Since 80% of all website traffic comes via the search engines, it is essential to make your website as search engine friendly as you can. You need to be listed on the first page of results for the key word of phrase that best describes your business. 80% of the business from a search query goes to the companies who are listed in the top half of the first page of search results.
Most of your prospects have never heard of you and have no idea that you even exist, never mind your web address. There are millions and millions of users. That's the good news--lots and lots and lots of people on the Net.
On the flip side there are currently billions of websites and growing daily.
Everyone else has the same idea you have--build a web site and they will come. Well, how are those customers with money to spend going to find you? You must address that when preparing your Internet marketing strategy.
The answer is search engines--the online tool that allows users to quickly find almost anything on the World Wide Web. By selecting keywords (words or phrases a user will enter into a search engine in order to find a web site) the users find the information they are looking for. So it follows that your site should have keywords.
Yes, the robot society has arrived. The majority of people (i.e. your prospects) use a search engine to look for products or services. The search engines use "spiders" - a computer robot program that scans the web looking for information that is then updated or added to their search engine database.
Spiders are sometimes referred to as "knowledge-bots", "crawlers" or "knowbots". The web is so large that is can take six months for a spider to find your site.
Once you build your web site you have choices in terms of getting traffic to your site:
1. Do nothing and hope people will find you. Some of your competition is following this tactic--so you could easily get the jump on them by doing something.
2. Pay per click. This is a method of search marketing where advertisers (sellers) pay a set amount every time their ad is clicked by a prospect. Some services run on an "auction" basis--you bid against your competitors for paid listings on the search engine listings of keywords. E.g. you could pay $.10 or $10 per click to get listed in your category for a listing on Google (these appear at the top and down the right side of the search engine listings) or Yahoo. Buying your way to a top with sponsored listings is somewhat effective. However, searchers click on sponsored listings only 26% of the time. They know they are advertisements and not genuine search results.
3. Optimize your site. Optimize comes from Latin meaning "best." So to optimize means "to make the most perfect or to modify to achieve maximum efficiency". The objective is to maximize your web site's search visibility and conversion rate and so generate more leads and sales.
This is also called "positioning" or ranking -- the process of writing, programming and designing a web site using keywords so that the search engine ranks your site high in the results.
Search Engine Positioning gets your site listed by the search engine so that people looking for your product or service can quickly find you. Organic (or natural) search results pay off in traffic and brand value. Once the visitor reaches your site, your home page has to be relevant to their search term and key words, easy to use, draw them into your site and take them down the click path to where you want them to take that all important revenue producing click.
Most websites lose 60% of their traffic right off the home page. Your website is a vital tool in your marketing and PR campaign--your online face to the world. But even the most perfect website is no use at all if it is never found and seen by the right audience. Your brand awareness and value increases with top search page result placement. The bottom line is that your customers can't buy what they can't find. Make it easy for them by optimizing your web site. Being lost in space is not a good Internet marketing strategy.

Using AdSense money to grow your business
By Cody Moya
One of the best things about using AdSense to make money on the web
is that the money earned can be used to help a struggling web site
business grow. Web publishing can be an expensive and time
consuming game, with hosting fees and equipment costs, but AdSense
revenue can help defray those costs and make a struggling web based
operation a healthy profit as well.
Creating a stable of web sites, rather than just one or two, is one
of the best ways to grow AdSense revenue and establish a healthy
track record of profitability as well. Having more web sites
published on the web and hosting AdSense ads is a great way to
maximize income and profits, and once the sites are up and running,
little is needed in the way of ongoing maintenance and upkeep.
Of course getting all those web sites up and running in a short
period of time can be quite a difficult undertaking, but the
expense of creating such a stable of sites can be minimized by
making some smart decisions and doing your homework.
In fact, lots of web site content and web publishing programs can be had for
free, and free is something that every web site owner likes to
hear. From free article directories to free shareware programs,
there are plenty of ways to minimize costs while maximizing profits.
When it comes to focusing on the best keywords for AdSense revenue,
however, it is important to know where other people are spending
their money, and that can be accomplished by determining which
keywords advertisers are bidding the most money for. The rates for
these keywords change constantly, so it is important to get timely
and accurate information in order to maximize profit potential.
As those profits accumulate, they can be plowed back into the
business, to create more web sites, and more AdSense revenue. As
this continues, earnings can rise, and more money can be made.
It may be worth your while as well to invest in a good ad tracking
program in order to track which ads are providing the most revenue.
This information can then be used to optimize your various web
sites for the keywords that are bringing in those ads. Since
Google AdSense allows web publishers to host ads on several
different sites, this knowledge will also allow you to develop
additional sites to capitalize on those high paying ads and
keywords.
Increasing click through rates is another way to increase profits
from your web sites while growing your business. All other things
being equal, the web site with the highest click through rate will
enjoy the biggest profits. One way to increase click through rates
is to engage in a bit of advertising of your own.
Researching the
site statistics to find out where those clicks are coming from is a
great way to spot trends early and follow through to create more
profits and better ad revenue.
Lastly, increasing web site traffic is a great way to grow both web
profits and web site visibility. It stands to reason that those
web sites with the highest levels of traffic will be able to enjoy
the best profitability and the best click through rates.
Even if the click through rate does not increase along with the number of
visitors, more web site visitors should result in more ad clicks,
and more revenue. A portion of that revenue can then be put back
into the web publishing business in order to generate still more
revenue for the web publishing business.

Tips for Increasing Web Site Traffic
The Internet and the World Wide Web are touted as the great equalizer. Via the Internet, small
companies now have the means to compete with larger established companies in the marketplace.
The following are tips for increasing Web site customer traffic1 :
• Include your businesses Web address on all collateral marketing material (i.e., brochures,
business material, stationary, newsletters, fliers) as well as correspondence materials (i.e.,
fax cover sheets, quotes, invoices). The purpose of including your Web address on all
business material is that it allows you to expose current and potential customers to your
address. The objective is to get your Web address in front of as many people as possible.
• Get your Web address on as many directories as possible. Make sure your Web address is
added to the directories of the various organizations in which you are involved. This does
not have to be limited to professional organizations. For example, add your Web address
to any trade organization in which you or your company is a member but in addition, make
sure your Web address is added to your health club’s membership directory or any other
directory where your business may be listed.
• Make sure your Web address is identifiable with your company name. For example, Coca-
Cola’s Web address is http://www.coke.com. It is a good idea to have your company
name in at least part of your Web address.
• Register your Web site, Web address, company name, products and services, and any key
words that can be used to describe your company or product with all Internet search
engines. A search engine is a remotely accessible program that lets you do keyword
searches for information on the Internet. The search engine enables people browsing the
Internet to search for words or phrases anywhere on your Web site.
• Monitor the Web Site’s or Web page’s meta tags which contain key words or strategic
words used to describe the Web sites or Web pages contents. These key or strategic
words need to be to be monitored and updated periodically to make sure that the various
search engines properly index the Web site or Web pages and that the key words list is
sufficient to have the site or page register as high as possible on the search engines results.
Make sure that identified key or strategic words appear in the page title, if they do not the
Web page may be poorly ranked by the search engines.
• Try to develop many “hot links” to and from other Web sites. Many Web sites are glad to
include a “link” to and from Web sites that offer similar topics (i.e., trade associations,
vendors, customers, chamber of commerce, state or local governments), especially if your
site has something of value to offer. This will allow you to attract the attention of Web
browsers who visit sites linked to your Web site. For example, a person visiting a
chamber of commerce Web site may decide to look at the chamber’s membership list. By
having your Web site linked to the chamber of commerce’s Web site, the visitor can “link”
to your Web site by simply clicking on your Web address. E-mail other Web sites to see if
they will allow you to link.
• Generate promotional programs (i.e., electronic coupons) that can only be obtained by
visiting your Web site. This helps to attract customers to your Web site where they can
learn more about your business and its products and services.
• Web site developers can provide a Web site log which provides information on tracking
web sites traffic, determining where visitors are coming from, where they are going,
whether or not they made a purchase and other information. The site’s “log” can provide
invaluable information to help more effectively manage the Web site.
• Make your Web site attractive and appealing. The Web site needs to be informative and
interesting. It is tempting to include too much information about your business. Customers
visit your sight seeking information about specific products and services you have to offer,
not to learn every aspect of your business and its entire history. This is not to say that an
abbreviated, interesting version of your company and it history is not needed. There is a fine
line between providing the visitor with enough information about your business and its
products and providing too much. For example, a brief description of how your company’s
family recipe was discovered and finally brought to market is a good way to covey your
company’s marketing position (i.e., family owned small business producing homemade
products). On the other hand, a pain stakingly detailed account of description of Aunt
Paulies life is not necessary and may end up boring the visitor.

Just A Buck
Franchise Owners Find a Wealth of Good Advice in Memphis, TN
Kwan Hakim can’t help but chuckle sometimes when she sees a family member operating the cash register at her Memphis general merchandise store, Just A Buck. In their native Hong Kong, her relatives were teachers, principals, and engineers. Now, they’re ringing up sales, stocking shelves and helping customers select just the right item for a gift or the home.
Although the work is a far cry from their previous professions, Kwan and her family don’t take these jobs lightly. Five years ago, Kwan’s brothers and sisters were among the thousands of people who left Hong Kong before Great Britain returned the colony to China. Because family ties are the most important of all, Kwan was determined to help them find a way to make a living in the U.S.
"Irving was very patient and had a delightful personality. With his business experience, he could tell us exactly what to expect. He gave us the confidence we needed to move forward."Kwan Hakim, Co-Owner, Just A Buck—Memphis
But how? Although she had gone to college, worked and lived in the U.S. for over 25 years, Kwan knew nothing about starting or running a business. She began exploring possible ideas with her husband and decided that a retail store offered the most promise. “After all,” she says, “many goods come from Hong Kong and China; why not the store owners, too?”
Kwan visited a bank to ask about loans and business start-up procedures. It was there that she learned about SCORE, a source of virtually unlimited expertise for small businesses. Kwan knew instantly that this was exactly what she needed. “Very few people know how to run a business because we usually work for someone else,” she says. “I think of SCORE as a community resource. Where else could you find some much valuable information? And for no charge!”
Kwan met with Irving Nathanson, the former president of an area carpet company, who discussed various alternatives, including buying a franchise. He then helped her evaluate various frachisors, explaining the responsibilities and benefits each one would afford. Kwan settled on Just A Buck, a small variety chain that specializes in merchandise priced at $1.00. As this would be the franchise's first store in the Midwest, Just A Buck was equally eager to work with Kwan and her family. “We did a lot of work ourselves, but Irving was like a supervisor,” Kwan says. “He was always truthful; he told us what we were doing right, and what issues he had reservations about.”
Although Just A Buck provided extensive support to the aspiring entrepreneurs, Kwan still relied on Irving and SCORE for help. Irving helped the family arrange a financing plan that gave Kwan and her six brothers and sisters an equal stake in the venture. While the franchise opportunity indeed looked promising, Irving reminded Kwan that business success does not come without risk. "The franchisor wanted us to get a 10-year lease on a store, but we initially wanted only three years, in case things didn’t work out," Kwan explains. "Irving helped us understand that risk is a part of doing business, and that we would benefit in the long run."
With the help of an attorney, Kwan negotiated a very favorable long-term lease on a retail site. In November 1995, the family officially opened the Memphis Just A Buck store. After a slow start, the business began to build a solid flow of customers. "It’s been a true immigrant success story," Kwan says, adding that her SCORE counselor deserves a share of the credit. "Irving was genuinely concerned about the future of our business," she says. "It was nice to have someone like him to lean on, and to share questions or concerns with. I hope he realizes how much of an impact he had on our business."
